U.S. Veteran

Willis P. Johnson, 92, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday April 22, 2012.

Born September 6, 1919 he was the son of the late Harry and Marie Wright Johnson.

Willis was a veteran of WWII serving three years in the Pacific. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Greenwich, VFW post 7291 of Greenwich, the Greenwich Senior Citizens and a former Boy Scout leader.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 66 years, Emily (Peg); his children Janice, Yvonne, Glenda and Barry; his grandchildren Stacey, Amy, Kevin, Aaron, Sam and Zach; and his great grandchildren Rebecca, Emily, Olivia, Megan and Tessa.

At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. A service with military honors will be held at 1pm Thursday May 24, 2012 at, Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.

Donations in his memory may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, Church St., Greenwich, NY 12834

Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich, NY.
