Robert Gagne Sr.

Obituary of Robert Lee Gagne Sr.

Robert Lee Gagne Sr., 65, a resident of Greenfield Center, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital, following a long battle with COPD.

He was born April 20, 1958, in Troy, New York to the late Donald and Eva (Fredericks) Gagne.

Robert first and foremost was a handworker, who loved his children and grandchildren immensely.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He was a master finish carpenter, owning his own business J & B Trim-N-Tight for several years.

Robert truly mastered everything he tried, including funny one liner’s, bullhead fishing, swimming, and cooking.  He loved all things food including chicken wings, fish fry, sausage and peppers, homemade spaghetti sauce and always had chocolate chip cookies on hand.   He loved his two boys, Jeremiah, and Robert Jr. teaching them the construction trade, passing on his knowledge to them.

To Robert, work wasn’t considered work, it was more than that, every job was a work of art.

In his free time, he enjoyed any time spent with family, camping, watching westerns and Gilligan’s Island. He respected and honored his Native American heritage and loved wolves and dream catchers. He was a New York Giants fan.  Robert will forever be remembered by his family and friends as a generous man.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Theresa and Donna.

Survivors include his sons, Robert (Kate) Gagne Jr. of Greenfield Center and Jermiah (Magen) Gagne of Middleburgh, NY; brothers, Donald and John Gagne and Al Duell; big sister, Debra (David) Falls; grandchildren, Harley, Addum, Hunter and Natalie; special niece, April DuGuay, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Flynn Bros, Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Avenue, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.

Family and friends may pay their respects to Robert’s family from 3 to 4 pm prior to his service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St, Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866.
