Obituary of Fred C. Baldwin

Fred C. Baldwin, 88, a resident of Slate Valley Nursing Home, passed away, Sunday, April 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in South Glens Falls, NY, on July 28, 1935, to the late Beecher and Agnes Baldwin.

Fred served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Fred was a simple man, all he needed to be happy was snacks and food.  His personality was always bigger than life, and he was sarcastic, big hearted, strong willed, and could be brutally honest at times.

Fred was always willing to help others any chance he could.  Following his discharge from the service he worked for the Peckham Quarry and later opened an autobody garage.  He owned and operated Baldwin’s Autobody for many years in Schuylerville and Richlands North Carolina.  He enjoyed restoring old cars and bringing them back to life. His favorite restore was a 1937 Buick. He now rejoins his wife of 53 years Joyce Baldwin in heaven. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Joyce F. Baldwin, son-in-law, Russ Conlee and granddaughter, Nichole Burch.

Survivors include his three daughters, Deborah (Felix) Perry, Melissa (Kevin) Monahan, and Lisa Conlee; three sons, Glen (Sharon) Baldwin, Jeffery (Heather) Baldwin and Christopher Baldwin; grandchildren, Jeremy, and Eric (Nichole) Perry, Sarah (Shawn) Barhorst, Susan Monahan, Adam (Blair) and Katlyn (Michael Naccarato) Conlee, Graham (Rozina Doss) and Ambra (Corey Hart) Baldwin, Natasha Baldwin, Heather Baldwin, LeeAnn (David) Gould and Christopher (Barbara Jean) Baldwin; many great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Peter (Rody) Baldwin, and John (Karen) Baldwin; sister, Dianne (Michael) Hogan.

There will be no calling hours.  His interment with full military honors will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Gerald BH Soloman, Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.
