Obituary of Michael W. Faile

Born September 10, 1951, Michael Faile grew up in Bald Mountain on a beautiful farm with five.

siblings. - Michael was quite mischievous and at just four years old, he burned down one of the

barns on the family farm, and for hours the whole family thought he had been in the barn; By the time they found him they couldn’t even be mad. He had taken the experiences he had gained on the farm with him through life. Michael could drive any type of equipment and had a love of farming, which he got from his father. They spent years working side by side on the farm, even after having a farm, of his own.

After high school he married the love of his life and the most dedicated wife and mother

anyone could dream of, Patty Welzanuk. After getting married they lived on the family

farm for a few years where Michael continued to work with his father. There they had their first.

child Billy whom they named after his grandfather. Michael and his wife lived on a few farms.

before buying his dream farm in Cossayuna. There they lived happily with their family of five,

along with their family dog, Homer.  He continued living there for many years before moving to his forever home in Middle Falls.

Both Michael and Patty worked at the Toy Works.  His co-workers can attest that he was.

known as quite the prankster- never knowing what he was going to do next- from putting fake.

spiders in their coffee or putting something in the ends of cigarettes to make them explode!

He went on to work for Fort Miller for several years before going to work at Mount McGregor

Correctional facility where he worked until his retirement.

Michael and Patty enjoyed traveling to many sporting events to watch their three children play various sports. He formed many close friendships while his kids were growing up.  At one

point Michael and a few of his friends helped form the Cambridge/Greenwich Youth Football

Program. They were especially proud to watch their son, Bill, play baseball. In his Jr/Sr, years

Michael got to watch his son win back-to-back state championships. After years of sitting on the

bleachers many friendships were formed, that lasted a lifetime. Michael and Patty then got the

privilege to enjoy watching their grandchildren play sports throughout their school years and have traveled to countless games to watch them play.

Michael also enjoyed his time playing cards where he spent countless hours with family and friends. Especially the last few years where playing pinochle on the weekends with his

Sisters became the regular. He had an endless love and passion for watching the New York Yankees and the New York Giants throughout the years.

Michael enjoyed spending time with his family- which was more important to him than

anything in the world. Michael was surrounded by so many special people in his 72 years of life.

His selflessness was undeniable, as he was always there to help anyone with absolutely anything.  Always there to lend a helping hand, although he may not always have been the best at expressing his feelings, everyone always knew how he felt.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Shirley and Bill Faile, and his sister Patty Faile.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Patty Faile. Children; Bill Faile, Patty (Ron)

Corlew, and Michael Faile. Megan (Darin) Jeffords. Grandchildren: Lauren, Cameron, and Eli.

Jacob and Haley. Keaton, Kahlil, Morgan, Mikey, and Aubrey. Siblings: Dave (Linda) Faile,

Peggy Dwyer, Ellen (Paul) Birkheimer, Marge Irwin, John Irwin.  Michael also loved his loyal

companion, his dog Daisy, along with too many close friends to mention.

A special thank you to all the staff at Glens Falls Hospital, especially Elizabeth.

Renhardt, who were all wonderful in our most vulnerable time.
